From at least August 2025 through September 2026, a contributor using the name Daniel Robson reportedly used AI-assisted writing and an AI-generated headshot while presenting himself as a real Canadian journalist, accumulating bylines across several outlets. Publishers later said they could not verify his identity and removed his work. Türkiye Today alleged that some pieces targeted Moroccan dissidents and promoted pro-Morocco narratives.

Researchers reported that threat actors abused Keitaro Tracker infrastructure to cloak and route AI-themed investment scams across about 15,500 domains. The campaigns allegedly used AI-trading claims, deepfake videos or imagery, generative AI-produced copy and visuals, spoofed news pages, and fraudulent trading platforms to target potential victims while hiding scam content from scanners and reviewers.

NewsBreak said the errors originated in source material and removed the articles after complaints. The specific AI models and the extent to which they contributed to the inaccuracies were not identified.
