At least 5,000 small savers have been defrauded of half a billion kronor this year through so-called pump and dump scams on social media.

The scammers use fake financial profiles to lure savers into investments that end in large losses.

Financial journalist Gabriel Mellqvist, whose identity was exploited, expresses frustration that Meta, which owns Facebook, is not taking action against the fake profiles.
