The National Police have arrested a minor in Palma for allegedly manipulating photographs of some of his high school classmates, undressing them with artificial intelligence (AI) (https://elcaso.elnacional.cat/es/noticias/cinco-menores-desnudan-alumnas-colegios-valencia-inteligencia-artificial-redes_1162615102.html "Five minors undress students from schools in Valencia with artificial intelligence and spread the photos on networks") and then disseminating them. The investigation that culminated in his arrest began following the complaint of several victims, also minors, like the detainee, who explained that they were aware that several images of them were being disseminated in which they appeared completely naked. Images that were not real, since those photographs had never been taken without clothes.

According to the teenagers' explanations when filing the complaint, the original photographs had been posted on their social networks and appeared with clothes. Thus, someone had downloaded them and, with some AI application, had generated an artificial nude with a high degree of reality. In fact, the minors' relatives had to look at the photographs several times and look closely to discover that it was a montage, since at first glance they looked like completely real nudes.
The agents of the Technological Crimes and Economic Crime Group of the Palma National Police carried out several procedures and were able to identify a boy, a classmate of the girls and of the same age, as the alleged author of the creation of the false images. Since the photographs were of a sexual nature involving minors, investigators pointed him towards the production of child pornography and, once his authorship was confirmed, he was arrested on charges of corruption of minors. The facts have been brought to the attention of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office of the Balearic Islands.
