"Poorly made fakes". This is the statement of the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Dumitru Alaiba, about a video clip that appeared online, entitled "the minister is resting nicely". In the video, a male person appears, with facial features similar to Alaiba, but also several women. The people in question appear to be in a sauna, with several glasses placed on the tables, as well as bottles bearing the inscription of some brands that sell alcohol. "By coincidence, this fake, which could have been launched at any time, is being launched nimbly today to cover up the shameful news about how a Kremlin candidate has Romanian citizenship. "A cheap attempt," Alaiba stressed in a reaction on his official Facebook page.

"I call for vigilance. We have 20 days of campaign left. There will be a lot of dirt. Many fakes, lies and slander. They will do everything to divert us from the path. But they will fail," Alaiba added.
In his reaction, Alaiba stated that "the fake was launched to cover up the shameful news about how a Kremlin candidate has Romanian citizenship".
He was referring to Alexandr Stoianoglo, the candidate nominated by the Socialist Party of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) in the presidential elections, who confirmed that he is also a citizen of Romania.
However, he continues to support the idea that "the first persons in the state should hold only Moldovan citizenship".
In a post made on Facebook, Stoianoglo stated that "he remains of the opinion that our legislation must be amended so that the first persons in the state hold only Moldovan citizenship".
We specify that the legislation allows people with dual citizenship to hold public office. One of the necessary conditions for a person to be elected president in our country is to hold the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova.
However, the leader of the Socialist Party of Moldova, Igor Dodon, whose party supports Stoianoglo in this election, in 2020, declared that, for him, it remains a priority that people with dual citizenship not be at the helm of the state.
