Microsoft reported that China-aligned hackers used ARTEX, an AI penetration-testing framework, to access customers' Microsoft 365 environments through stolen credentials for ConnectWise's cloud backup services. Agents reportedly changed credentials and privileges in some environments to retain unauthorized access.
