The Los Angeles Unified School District's $6 million investment in developing an AI chatbot "Ed," which was designed to provide academic and mental health support to students, failed when the contracted start-up, AllHere, collapsed due to financial difficulties. AllHere's collapse also affected other school district clients, such as Prince George’s County in Maryland.
