A 16-year-old hiker reportedly became stranded on a cliff on Crown Mountain in British Columbia, Canada, and required helicopter rescue. Rescuers reportedly attributed his dangerous route to directions from Anthropic's Claude chatbot. The hiker disputed that account, saying he mainly used Claude for a packing list and some terrain research, also consulted other mapping tools, and took a wrong turn himself.
