A purportedly AI-generated video depicting a police officer punching a person against a wall was reportedly shared on Facebook and X as footage of police violence during student protests in France. Activist Nathalie Yamb used it to condemn French authorities and call for international intervention. The clip predated the protests, and its creator acknowledged generating it with AI. One X post reportedly received more than 650,000 views.

Researchers at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) report that Operation Overload (also known as Matryoshka or Storm-1679) is a Russian-aligned campaign leveraging purported AI-generated voiceovers and visual impersonations to spread false or inflammatory content across platforms. The campaign reportedly involved at least 135 discrete posts analyzed by ISD in early 2025 targeting institutions and individuals, including one purported viral video claiming USAID funded celebrity trips to Ukraine (see Incident 1061).

Florida police reportedly arrested commercial crabber Robert Dillon in August 2024 after the statewide FACES facial recognition system purportedly identified him as a possible match to a suspect shown in grainy surveillance images from Jacksonville Beach. Dillon reportedly lived more than 300 miles away and said he had never visited the city. He reportedly spent a night in jail and posted bond using his truck title.
